On the International Slave Plantation

Robert Berkeley “Bob” Minor (15 July 1884 - 26 January 1952) was a political cartoonist and journalist. He was a prominent member of the American Communist Party from 1920. In 1904, at the age of twenty, Robert Minor began working for the San Antonio Gazette. Minor joined the illegal American Communist Party in 1920. Under the underground pseudonym “Ballister”, Minor was sent to the Soviet Union as a representative of the American Communist Party on the Executive Committee of the Communist International.

In 1945, he briefly served as General Secretary of the Party. As a journalist and activist, he travelled in many parts of the world.
