Short biography

Bassam Abu Abdullah holds a PhD in International Relations from the Academy of Sciences of Uzbekistan University (1993). He was a Diplomat in the Syrian embassy in Turkey (2004–2008). He is a writer and political expert who teaches at universities. He served as a team leader at the Damascus Strategic Studies Center (2012–2014). He recently published a book with Dr. Ziad Ayoub Arbache and Malaz Moukada on China in Arabic (China: The Founding Act of a New World Order, Orient Printing & Publishing, Damascus, 2019). He is a visiting researcher at the Institute of Middle Eastern Studies, Shanghai University of International Studies. He speaks Arabic, English, Russian, and Turkish.
