Short biography
Gao Junyu 高君宇 (1896–1925) was a Chinese Marxist theorist and early Communist leader. He was President of the Peking University Student Union during the May Fourth Movement in 1919. In 1920, he co-founded the Society for the Study of Marxist Theory and joined the Communist Party of China in 1921. He served on the Central Committee of the Socialist Youth League of China and was elected to the CPC Central Committee at its 2nd and 3rd National Congresses. His historical analyses evaluating Turkey's War of Independence and anti-imperialist revolutions in the East remain seminal historical documents.
