Short biography
Poet Hüseyin Haydar was born in 1956 in Trabzon. He studied economics and finance. He worked as an editorial board member and technical director for YAZKO's Literature and Translation magazines. His first poetry collection, Acı Türkücü, won the 1981 Academy Poetry First Prize. He received numerous awards for his books: TROYA Poetry Award (2012), Ahmet Necdet Poetry Award (2012), Yunus Nadi Poetry Award (2012), and Enver Gökçe Poetry Award (2013). He served on the Ulusal Kanal Broadcasting Board and the Writers' Syndicate of Turkey (TYS) Board. He presented the program Literature Front on Ulusal Kanal. He is a member of the Patriotic Party Central Decision Board and the National Science Strategy Center (UBSMER). He publishes poems in his column Poet's Toil in Aydınlık newspaper.
