Short biography
Dr. Ömer Ersin Kahraman holds a B.S. in Industrial Engineering and a Minor in Philosophy of Science and Logic from Middle East Technical University (METU), where he also earned his M.S. in Science and Technology Policy Studies (valedictorian). He completed his Ph.D. in Philosophy at the University of Rennes 1 with highest honors ('Très Honorable'). After teaching philosophy at Académie de Poitiers in France, he joined Istinye University, serving as chair of the Sociology Department. He specializes in the sociology of consumption, ideology, political philosophy, political economy, and the Frankfurt School.
