Short biography
Zakir Khalilovich Abidov was born on October 25, 1964, in Tashkent, Uzbekistan. He studied at the Tashkent University of Transport (1981-1986). From 1986 to 1988, he served in the armed forces. He worked at Glav Tashkent Stroy Company (1988-1990). From 1990 to 1996, he served in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Uzbekistan, and from 1996 to 1998, he served in the Consulate General of the Republic of Uzbekistan in Istanbul. From 1998 to 2017, he served as Head of the Secretariat and Deputy Chairman of the Council for Cultural and Educational Relations with Friendship Associations and Foreign Countries. Since 2017, he has been the Head of the Department of International Relations at the Committee on Interethnic Relations and Friendly Relations with Foreign Countries of the Republic of Uzbekistan.
