Bassam Abu Abdullah holds a PhD in International Relations from the Academic of Sciences of Uzbekistan University (1993). He was a Diplomat in the Syrian embassy in Turkey (2004-2008). He is a writer and political expert who teaches at universities and other higher education institutions as a lecturer. He made public appearances at several media outlets and participated in international conferences, including the Beijing summit on “One Belt One Road” in May 2017. He served as a team leader at the Damascus Strategic Studies Center (2012-2014). He recently published a book with Dr. Ziad Ayoub Arbache and Malaz Moukada on China in Arabic (China: The Founding Act of a New World Order, Orient Printing & Publishing, Damascus, 2019). He is a visiting researcher at the Institute of Middle Eastern Studies, Shanghai University of International Studies. He speaks Arabic, English, Russian, and Turkish.
Ziad Ayoub Arbache holds a PhD from the Institute of Energy Economics and Policy (IEPE-INPG), Grenoble, France (1998). He worked as an advisor to several ministries in Syria and as a consultant for international development organizations and agencies. He is a member of the Advisory Board of the Syrian Prime Minister. He is a lecturer in several postgraduate centers and a guest of several media channels. His main areas of research are geo-economics and strategic prospective studies, peacebuilding and recovery strategies, regional planning, and geopolitics of energy. He speaks Arabic, French, and English.
