Yang Chen is an Associate Professor in the Department of History of Shanghai University’s College of Liberal Arts and Executive Director of the Centre for Turkish Studies at Shanghai University. He has published two books about Türkiye and several papers in journals such as Critical Sociology, Sociology of Islam, Belt & Road Initiative Quarterly, and Arab World Research. His main research areas are political Islamic movements in Türkiye, party politics in Türkiye, Türkiye’s foreign policy, and China-Türkiye relations.
