Ruan Hongmei (阮红梅), is a professor of Translation Studies at the School of Foreign Studies, Northwestern Polytechnical University, Xi'an, and a member of the council of UNA-China. She got her Bachelor's degree from Xi'an International University in 1987, majoring in English; her Master of Arts degree from Xi'an International University in 1990, majoring in Translation Studies; her Doctor degree from Shanghai International University in 2014, majoring in Translation Studies. She has been the Faculty Advisor of Model UN team of Northwestern Polytechnical University since 2001. Her Model UN course program received the Second Prize of the National Teaching Achievement Award issued by the Ministry of Education in 2009. She is the director of UN Research and Teaching center of NPU. She is the director of the Master of Translation and Interpreting Education Center of NPU. She has rich publications in the research fields of translation study and international organizations.
