Biography

Kazim Abdullaev received his M.A. degree in 1975 from Gorky University (Nizhni Novgorod) on Renaissance Studies, and his Ph.D. on Distinction in Classical Archaeology from the Institute of Archaeology, Academy of Sciences of the USSR in 1986. His research interests include the archaeology of Anatolia in Ancient period and Central Asia of the Hellenistic and Post-Hellenistic periods. He is a Laureate of Academie des Inscriptions et Belles-Lettres (Institut de France) since 2009 for the works on the diffusion of Greek iconography in the Oriental Civilizations of Central Asia. At present time he is Senior researcher and Lecturer in the Istanbul University – Department of Fine Arts, an Associated Member of the Centre National de Recherche Scientifique (Paris) and the Institute for The Study of the Ancient World (New York), 2017 – Foreign Corresponding Member of ISMEO — Associazione Internazionale di Studi sul Mediterraneo e l’Oriente (International Association of Studies on the Mediterranean and the East).
